Today i was making a templet of the stock s5 non-turbo ports on some plexi glass and while doing the the secondairs i noticed that the outter oil seal overlaps the ports at the very end (or beginning ) of an intake stroke. It does completly overlap, but looked like 50ish% overlaps the ports
Is this a stock port configuration? It didnt look like the ports were modified but i could be wrong. Are all series engines like this? -Jacob |
I Had this same question about a week ago, it was pointed out to me, that if you insert the outer oil seal and look at the actual scraper ( the part the contacts the housing, inner diameter of the outer ring) it has about 1/16th of an inch of clearence.

The outer edge of the runner will pass over the port edge, but the inner edge should not.

Ok thats what i see, just the outer and not completly
Thanks |
look at your oil control ring, it contacts onlin on the inner lip. Look closely at you iron housings and you will sell the wear line.
