First off I will begin by saying that I am a newb to engine building and porting. I have been slightly involved in a few engine builds already (1revvin7), and have been reading religiously online about Judge ITO's porting techniques and tricks, and looking at as many pictures of diffreent porting as I could find. I have a pretty good idea of what I want to do for power and such, I just want to take this one step at a time. I do not want to rush into this project blind. I want a sufficient gameplan of what I am going to need and what I need to do this. So to start with:

A list of what kind of tools(such as dremels, bits, grits of sand paper heads, and clearancing), chemicals(solvents, hylomar, vaseline, etc), where I can get the OLD version 13b rebuild video( the new one SUCKS)?? List anything and everything you can think of.

Also, I was wondering what kind of man-hours you have all put into your porting and rebuild projects?

I greatly appreciate all of your help and replys. I will keep posting as to when I plan on the initial tear down of the engine and I plan on making this a good experience! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

The rebuilding and porting is super easy, since you saw someone else do it you had a jump on me, the first port i did was a bridgeport, and it worked out excellent, good luck

I didn't know there was an older, better one. What else was covered?

I'm not sure what year the video was made in, but it covers EVERYTHING in depth. From tear down, cleaning, clearances, and the rebuild. The new one flys through all of that in about 1/4 the time with no respect to detail. It really does suck

The Bruce Tarruntine CD can be had through Tracy Crooks Rotary aviation web site. Also overhaul kits and his design Apex seals that many racers are using.

Look for videos on the home page.

The Turrentine video is better than the new Atkins video, IMHO
