My intake ports have been cleaned up and there are no sharp corners.

Exhaust ports now matche the diffusers.

I cannot get this car to run right at the stock timing(5deg adv).

It doesn't like to start at this setting.

@ 5 deg btdc it runs fine and pulls 5" more vacuum. Exhaust pulses are also crazy at 750-1000rpm idle with the stock timing, feels like a stock port motor idling at 3k rpms.

also how do you know for sure if you timing is not 180 degs off?

check the trailings

The CAS may not be inserted in properly.

I did that several times. Car is running a tad lean at 6-700rpms with stock timing. 12.5 afr....

I did find one of the hot starting problems, efi temp sensor was reading cold all the time.

For once today the car seemed fine with the stock timing and a raised idle(900rpms). It even started find with the car warmed up. It had never done that.

Then it went haywire again, won't hold idle or start. Found out the tps went out on me. I hate this stock efi bullshit, and that damn top mount. I might just go ahead and do an e6k install. I am sick to death of adjusting ******* throttle stop/tps/ign. Not to mention the car won't go past 4k rpms...

damn rebuilds

I'm with ya on the E6K deal, might as well put it on. Hell, your white car isn't going to be needing it anytime soon.

I wouldn't say that https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Stock timing is actually 5-degrees *AFTER* TDC, not BTDC.

You're off by 10-degrees.

Also, check to make sure your CAS wires are wired correctly.

If your ignition timing map advances as RPM's increase (it's supposed to be like that), rev the engine and ensure the timing advances properly. If the sync trigger wires are reverse, you'll see the timing RETARD instead or advance. If the home trigger wires are reversed, the ignition timing will initially increase, but it was quickly reset back to TDC. If the wires are properly wired, the ignition timing will increase and stay there as long as the RPM's are higher.

Advancing ignition - marks go LEFT or counter clock wise.

Retarding ignition - marks go RIGHT or clockwise.

(Crap, I assumed it was Haltech install - I'll leave the info up for all the other Haltech installs. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR )
