air!!! thats the answer...fawk i need that ****.....and to think ur surrounded by it but home depot wants about 200 to use it to get a nut off!!
|
someone is selling a complete air tools set in the other forum for 275
|
nah, you don't need any of that stuff to get the flywheel off. Here is what I did.
ONce you get the flywheel nut off(hehe) put it back on so the flywheel doesn't fall on the ground. then take a 2by4 and whack it several times around the edge with the biggest hammer you can find. be carefull not to hit it directly with the hammer, that could cause some damage. It should break loose. |

Ya why'll it nice to have air it's not a must.
You can do the whole tear down/rebuild with a good set of hand tools. You just have to know what your doing, using impact and leverage when needed in replacement of the compressed air. Removing the flywheel bolt will require a 2' 1/8 or equal socket with a large 1 inch drive breaker bar. You'll need a flywheel holder to keep it still (available from Mazda or Racing Beat). I made my own from an old street sign pole (the green one with all the holes "No-Parking"). After It's cut to fit it works pretty good and can be used to hold the whole motor down ones it secured tightly. I'm going to try and attach a photo.. PK797 NYC |
