Well heres the best pic of my first bridge that i have been able to come up with using my crappy digi camara
First off how does it look for my first time? The port runner is not done as you can see in the picture. I did the entire thing using a single carbide bit and about a half a role of duct tape Second is: Where i have circled is the one place the dremel actualy got away from me and even with the tape it manged to nick the housing. In the picture it almost looks like i took material out all the way down flush with the o-ring grove but i did not, its more at an angle maby 30-40* at only 1/3 the depth of the grove. Is this still useable with that nick, it doesnt look horrible but id still like to know what you guys think -Jacob |
As far as I can see from your crappy photo https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png that should be OK as the housing will sit in that location. Q...did that slip up go all the way across the ridge to the port? IMO it should be fine.

If its all the same inside it won't flow like it should and won't produce the power you are looking for. |

Ive got my bridge going somewhat like that image, not as much as i would like but because its my first engine im happy with what ive got
Heres a better picture (went and developed some film) Its a picture from before i completed the bridge so the nick from the inside is no longer there. You can see a light scratch go across the face of the housing -Jacob |
that little nick wont bea problem, but it seems that u have ported the bride too close ot the inside, atelst from that photo, put teh rotor on there and check the corner seal, side seal end and corner seal plug clearances

Does anyone else drill pilot holes with a drill and then just connect the dots with the porting tool? I like to drill pilot holes at about a 30 degree angle for a guide.

i drill it but not at an angle, i then do teh angles and stuff with the portign tool

I just ground along the eyebrow for what seemd like 2,000 pass's and eventualy it started to break though. It made for a very smooth eyebrow from early on
For my rear housing im giong to try the drill hole method to get it started if nothing else to just save me time -Jacob |

Thrust me...Pilot Holes should be drilled when doing the bridge. Why waste a good housing when all that could be avoided. Unless you have a huge stock of side housings.....Do the pilot Drilling. This was how I did mine for porting.
