They have stuff that's literally called "High Temp Engine Paint." That's the stuff I'd use.
you can even use the low temp stuff, its not that hot
I understand that it is an engine that i am painting, but i dont think i need to use the 1200 F paint. there is water cooling all around the engine. Is there anybody that have tried with low temp?

Just go to the parts store and buy engine paint, ur painting an engine, thats what the paint is for, and its cheap.
most important part is that you clean it really well.
It won't hurt to use high temp, so why not go ahead and do it? It's only like $3 a can at AutoZone or similiar places.
First I used Engine white then red on top of that. It made the red pop out better. Just make sure you clean the irons real good. I even took the grinder an took off the casting flash on some of the edges to give more appeal.
I used black ceramic paint(the low temp stuff, but still 500F) on my irons only and it clings to it well. I had to grind it off with dremel to make good contact on the engine ground, sandpaper wouldnt do it.
I think the brand is Dupli-Color or something like that. |
