ok well im thinking of going for a P port down the line and i just wanted to get a list of different parts and things i need to do to the motor to get it ready to spin to around 10-11k with a (big) turbo. ok here it goes tell me what i missed or different things.



rotating assembly:



RX8 e shaft

9.4 NA s4 rotors for the strength

machine the side of the rotors for extra clearance to account for Eshaft flex, how much do i need to take off of each side?



"block":



RX8 front and rear stat gears w/ their 3 window bearings

DIY P-port and port the exhaust with a race template from RB, yes i have the tools to do all this

2 front S4 housings

JB-weld/devcon to fill around the new port and fill in the old ports and the removed T-bolt holes in the end plates

use hylomar on all the soft seals and just normal engine rebuild stuff on every thing else

stock sized stud kit with some RTV on the middle of em



oil system:

FD oil pressure regulator

stock S5 pump, does the FD one fit?



seals:

all stock mazda's with the carbon apex's



intake:

custom aluminum manifold with the biggest TB i can get for cheap https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png.



any thing i should or shouldnt do you guys want to tack onto the list?

Dont think the carbons are gonna like boost.

good call... didnt even think of that. the question then is do i need to increase the operating range of the engine if im using a turbo? because if i still need the high rpm how am i supposed to get it along with seals strong enough for the boost?

turbo p port would need ceramic apex seals.



i would also recomend 2 turbos, prolly each should be a t04, you need to size em based on pre-turbine backpressure, p port engines dont like back pressure.



you also will want the turbo rotors, and maybe mill them out for even lower compression.



a setup properly done should net in the 600hp range around 15psi



everything is gonna be super important, but its still basically a time bomb.

so this engine will not need to rev high for power then? and 2 t04s sound a little big to me unless they are both in the .5 AR range. and you mention Pports not liking backpressure, well to get a turbo to move you need back pressure https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png.... sooo there needs to be some kinda compromise. and i think 2 smaller turbos does sound like a good idea. possibly internaly wastegated ones off of a stock evo. that should flow enough.

I dont know your application, im guessing its a street car?



You absolutely dont need 12k redline to use a turbocharger. And the Pport engine is better suited for naturally aspitared application. The high amount of intake/exhaust overlap doesnt lend itself well to exhaust restriction. This is why two large turbos were previously suggested.



We need to know what your using this car for to be able to recomend a setup.

its going to a track only car driveability is really not a issue here. and as far as the overlap goes is there any reason i couldnt reposition the port so that there would be much less overlap, for use on a turbo

why bother going PP?? you can make all the power you want with with a large turbo using either a half bridge or large extend port... and your going to have to do more than what you have stated to raise your rev limit reliably .. i would do some more research to be honest before you hack up your housings for PP ports
