I posted a thread earlier about why pulled the motor apart. See https://www.nopistons.com/forums/index.php?...11&#entry763611

I know they are little on the rough side. But I need something to get me motivated into finishing this car, so I am going to put together this motor and see how long she last.

Here is the rotor housings.

you can use them as very nice displays https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

so what caused all of this? overheating and lack of oil metering pump? overreving? all of the above?

Looks to me like another set of parts victimized from your counterweight mismatch.

Holy Jebus!!!

I've taken apart countless engines, but have never seen anything that bad before!

Is mis-matched counter weights the cause of that?

It did have miss matched counter weights. S5 N/A flywheel on a S4 13BT. Irons look very nice. The car had a electric OMP on it, but hack job of the wiring the "conversion" had I doubt it worked.

The other rotor housing looks better, still has quite a bit of chatter marks, I gave a good thought about "using these" just to get the car back on the road again... I think I am going to go hunting for a core tomorrow.

Thats the rear housing btw.

Damn, so that is what happens when the apex chatters around in the housing. Could a stock form engine end up like that?

RotorDemon 09-28-2005 12:27 AM

Old Old. Tired motor.

From what I was told and understand. (The motor came out of a parts car) It had only around 5k miles (of runing like ****) on it. I was rebuilt by fairly known builder and I spoke to him about the motor. It was some sort of buddy budget hook up.
