I am not sure what they are offically called but I am referring to the screwed in oil ports on the e-shaft.



The Atkins rebuild video shows removing them for cleaning (and the check ball and spring behind them). I have put the e-shaft on a support block and got the biggest screwdriver I have on it and could not turn it.



I am thinking of getting one of the Craftsman Impact Screwdriver (where you hit the end of the screwdriver with a hammer and it turns your hammer force into twisting torque). But I am afraid of damaging the screw.



How do you get those thigns out.. and what do you call them?

Just try harder or get some Liquid wrench to try and loosen them up.. They probably have threadlock on them

ive never had one out, but the racing beat catalog says they use loctite. they also say to heat the jet with le torch

I used an impact screwdriver. A small hammer is much better to use on something like this. You can always go bigger too.

i heard hayes rotary eliminates the spring and the ball in their e-shaft modification because it can get stuck.

Can the spring and ball be left out? What would this do to oil pressure?

drop down in oil pressure. i tell you what i did to my gsl-se.i eliminated the ball and the spring then i took the screw and cut the 2walls that holds that spring.after this is done i drilled that hole a little bit bigger until i was able to screw in a holley 71 fuel jet.you will have constant oil flow at alltimes.the jet must be smaller than the hole in the screw because you want pressure.i measure the others holes on the e-shaft and open them up by .002mm of their original size not to much you still want pressure.then i did the same with the stationariesgears.you have to be very gentle with these parts or you will be getting another e-shaft.after i upgrade my stationary bearings and rotor bearings,with the front pressure regulator i used a cornel seal to raise the spring pressure,with the rear i opened up an insert a lock washer i don't remember the diameters at this moment.this is all about trial and errors.i did the same mods with a 12a and i have always way over 60psi never drop below
