how do i remove or disconect as i wont to pre-mix

j200pruf 12-28-2006 01:49 PM

Uh... You takes the bolts off of it, get a block off plate, and screw some plugs into the oil injector holes. If you have a S5 or newer RX7 your going to get a code, in an s5 it will make the car go into limp mode. So you would have to fool the ecu into thinking that the MOP is still there. If you have an S4 or older no worry the MOP is mechanical, so there is no worries.

thanks mate it is a s4 with a after market computer and what is the best pre-mix oil to run and how much to a tank thanks

Most people run a 1oz:1gal ratio of premix to gas.

You can also get one of those adaptors that feeds the omp with 2 stroke oil, best of both worlds, 2 stroke oil in the engine, and you don't have to worry about premix ratio, it's already taken care of. You could also just mod the MOP and feed it with 2 stroke oil directly.

idemitsu racing 1/2 per gallon of gas.

minimizes exhaust port clogging, proides for additional wear protection for apex and side seals.

keeps fuel injectors clean for reduced maint.

synthetic blend fuel lube.

made for the rotary exclusively

I decided I wont ever again remove an OMP even if I pre-mix. The OMP pushes a small drop of oil to the surface of the rotor housing for the apex seal to sweep over, lubricating the apex seal and improving the sealing characteristics over a dry seal. Pre mixing you get oil suspended in the air/fuel mixture which will burn off quicker at combustion time, not nearly as effective as a drop of oil directly applied to the apex seal surface. I would just add pre-mix instead of figuring out how to remove the OMP.

well i have no choice as i have a haltech.. no omp anymore

I think I made a thread when I removed mine, but I'm too lazy to search. However, here's the pics I took. clicky

And it's an S4 n/a.
