I got my Rotary aviation rebuild kit today, way before i expected it. everything looks GREAT in the kit, cept maybe the tension bolt seals which have a slight coating of rust but its not like it matters at all. The question is, i just noticed the kit doesnt come with oil control springs, should i get new ones, or are old ones ok,. I'm gonna have to order main bearings anyhow so i can easily get springs when i do. I just feel kinda funny replacing everything in the motor but the oil ring springs.

it's really up to you. unless they are obvioulsy smashed and non-functional, i think they would be reusable.

hmm... ok thank you, i think they look ok, but i'll still see if i can scrape up the extra 30 bux when i order my bearings.

Anyone know a cheaper place than mazda trix to buy these? i'd try atkins but they seem to be down...

Youre going to have a hard time beating mazdatrix's prices unless you get a dealer discount, or a mazdacomp discount.
As long as the springs look fine, and still work, they dont have to be replaced. |
Brian at www.mazdaformance.com. beats MT everytime for you non-comp fools

I e-mailed them yesterday, no responce yet, i'll call them tomarrow if still none. I wish i had mazda comp, only problem is you need a running car to participate in autocrosses... Had i had forsight i would have run two weekends back to back before retiring the motor. We'll see how mazdaformance works out though. I like Mazdatrix and all, they got my parts to me in one day last time with just priority mail (there close) but there prices are a tad steap, and they charged me like 15 bux for shipping and handling (8 dollar labor charge?)
