Just wanted to show that u can port the NA primary plates pretty big, those why shy away from them either donno what they are doing or are just naive. here are some pics

Yes, the stock 6-port NA already has longer duration than ANY stock turbo port, and you can't port them turbo irons much either to even surpass the STOCK 6-port duration!

Any particular reason you are keeping the bottom of the port so small?

I am hoping to maintain the velocity of the charge by opening it as soon as possible.

That's the largest opening I've ever seen. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blink.png Thin bridge too.

yes, i am keepign it small onteh bottom at the outside because that would be where your overlap is and i didnt want to add in too much of that, to retain that extra bit of low end. thought i dont belive in this technique on the secondary ports.

i dotn think u understood this right, i was talkign about just the center iron, ive examined the turbo and NA center irons and it seems that the castings end at about the same spots, i am pretty sure its teh same castings, which means u can port teh turbo and the NA just as much, its just portign the NA one will take u longer since the stock na port is smaller then the turbo one and u have to remove that extra bit of material.

but your statment is still true abotu the secondary plates.

kahren ports looks like mine, right before we screwed up the plate. It was pretty larger for a daily driver. When I started on the 2nd plate we didn't do the port as large. Using the Mazdatrix template(I think thats were it came from) we only opened the top of the port up. Did not lower it any. Should make for an easier to deal with daily driver.

I can see where you are coming from. Is this going into an FC?

I ask because since mine is going into an FB I don't have as much weight to deal with so I can afford to lose a bit on low end... but once it goes over 5k... Watch Out!
