I`m about to build a na bridgeport 13b for a rally car, but this is my first bp so I could need some advices. The engine is a 88 6port,the front/rear plate will be bridge ported, the bevel on the rotorhousing over the bp is 2mm x 2mm and I will use Atkins 2mm 2piece apexseals.I`m not sure how big I can make the bp, so have a look at the pics and give me some comments.
For the centerplate I have some problem deciding what to do,bp or street port..? This engine will only be driven at the race track,so I want the most out of it. My concern is if I bp the center plate, how will that affect the corner piece of the apexseal and how reliable will it be?I don`t want a engine that is "selfdestructive", I want the engine to be reliable, so I could need some help to decide what to do. I`m gone use the stock throttlebody with a custom intake manifold. The tubing on the manifold is 45mm for each secondary port, and 2x35mm connecting to 1 45mm just before the throttlebody for the primary ports, and it will have a stand alone to control fuel/ign. How much power can I expect? The engine is going into a VW Beetle by btw. Any help appreciated |

The bevel on the rotor housing is intersting.. I have never seen that, but then again no one post pixs of porting.....
|
Here`s a drawing of the port with some messurements.
The bevel on the housing is for better flow. |
it looks from the pics as if u ported inside too much on the aux port, are u sure its not in the way of the oil seal track?
|
The aux port is ported to the outer edge of the oil seal track. The front and rear housings are european spec. without rotating the sleave, it uses a butterfly valve in the intake manifold to open/close it.
How wide can I make the eyebrown, or how wide must the bridge be? |
