i have seen a few photos of people bridge porting sixports but they always leave the small bridge which divides the two ports. by removing it and porting it right up as far as the gallerys allow would create one big f*** off street port. i could see it getting a lot of flow with minimal overlap, it would barely require bridging( but i still will).

The only reason i can think of for leaving it in place is to support the the side scraper. i am also planing to link the runner ports up into one big one. (what type of burr would go that deep)its quite a long runner length

I have done alot of home work on porting etc and have been following this site for some time including all of ITO's posts (respect) and have allready learnt alot.

i have a good 12a that doesnt owe me much which i might use as a practice motor to see if this will work, then take to my 13b which is currently a bridgie but has new housings which i dont want to wreck by experimenting.

i have heard speculation but would love to hear from someone that has actually done this any help would rock

Do you know how either of those engines feel like to drive kahren?

Or havn't they even run yet? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

the streetport that ito build is running, i talked toe h guy who owns teh car he said ti was good? he had a stock intake manifodl setup, which imo is not good for ANYTHING more then stock porting.

Well mine will be running within the next month and it will definitely meet Mr. Dyno.

As to what bit to use it has a 6" shank which makes it easy to reach the back.

Im stoked to hear ITO has one allready runing its a real confidence boost. I have put alot of thought and time into researching this and it makes perfect sense to me but every one who is supposed to know about porting in my town has tried to talk me out of it (i think theyre scared). i think the only way to make more power is to try new things and it looks like we are all thinkin the same.

i cant wait to hear how all your motors do on dyno runs etc keep us posted...

i am going to run twin 40mm weber IDF's and i might have scored a 54mm IDA style manual injection system off a 13B pp race car (was running methanol) also have a electronic dizzy and a high volume oil pump will shim regulators and probably do eccentric shaft jets two (still decidin that one) next on the agenda is exhaust probably twin two inch with one presilencer each side joinin just after the diff into big dump pipe noise not an issue... cant get a ticket if they cant catch you lol.

thanks for all the feedback people just what i needed. will use the burr you recomended too sounds perfect, i cant explain my exitement so im just gonna rodeo ride my chair arround the room whoop whoop whoop

I belive that Dave Lemon's (Mazdatrix) E-prod racer is street ported, and he combined both the secondary and aux ports. His engine has a lot of over lap, and he make peak power at around 9k I think.

rainman 03-05-2004 05:20 PM

i imagined there would be a bit of overlap due to the port being so long, but still nothing compared to a bridgeport.

Any idea what the car went like and what sort of gear was in it ... induction and exaust wise

I believe Dave Lemons car made peak power over 10,000rpm but he doesn't spin it that high since he wants to finish the races he enters. It obviously does make good power thou as he was always a contender to finish well if not 1st. There was a good write up on the production car forum about his engine and parts he used in the engine. Thats where I got my info.

So you can join the two together but how safe it is, will this affect it's life expectancy too much?
