i found a metal front cover gasket on a reman i took apart, and i was reassembling the motor and wasn't sure if you use the crush nylon washer/oring assembly for the oil ouput with the metal gasket
anyone want to help me out here? |
If you have the metal gasket you don't need to use them, but I somtimes still put in the nylon one just for the hell of it... If your reusing one then I would use just the nylon one...

well kick ass! that means i can pull my front cover off and not need an o-ring to replace it
|
i ran the nylon only (do NOT put an o-ring in, it will fold into the oil passage(BAD)
getting 60psi at 1500rpm idle |

yes...that bad?
|
No, that is good. Are you currently breaking in the motor? I used to sit around 75 psi on break in and drop to 50 psi when break in was done idleing at 16-1700 on my 1/2 bridge.

i got the motor running yesterday but now it won't start cold
i'm waiting on some good haltech maps before i can get it going again, as it stands it will not idle by itself and it's flooding from the larger injectors when someone with some tuning talent gets on it, i'll post more about my oil pressure |
