I know there are tons of threads about the automatic to manual swap. I need to know about puting an automatic onto a manual engine. I know that the front counter weight is different and the rear housing is different some how, but I don't know if the auto will bolt to the manul rear housing or not? Does anyone know whats different? I looked at the micro fish and they have different part numbers and even the excentric shaft has different ones too!
Thanks any info would help!! Terry7 |
You will need the automatic rear counterweight and change the bearing/seal inside rear of the e-shaft. The auto tranny bolt holes will line up except for one bolt.

umm, starter would go where?

No can do,
The automatic starter will not mount to a manual engine rear plate. The rear plates are different between automatic and manual engines. |

I had no trouble mating an automatic to a manual engine before. The starter bolts to the trans, not the engine. FD might be different somehow, but the OP didn't specify what engine or transmission. |
Im guessing the O.P. was referring to the FD.
The rear irons are different, as stated before. And this thread is 5 years old!https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683329.gif |
