What a journey.. after tons of work with little time available for myself, I finally finished the Rx3 Sp.
I will be testing this whole weekend starting today friday. Judgement day is finally here.. I'm excited and looking forward to every single run on this car.. My kid will be the first one to test the car down the quarter mile. I'm looking into getting her all the experience necessary to run a car in the NHRA and NOPI events. thats a different story.. All I could say is that this project has been a learning experience.. took alot of patience and dicipline to finish it.. thanks to the people that have giving me a hand to finish it.. Real Deal Motorsports... Nu Life Auto Body.. JB mod's.. Active chimney Service.. Lucky auto sounds.. Atkins Rotary.. Kathy your my queen.. love ya.. New Mothers Performance store.. Mazda competition ... and every single person that in one way or another has help to finish the car.. |
WOOOT WOOOOOT !!

Congrats ITO, I have been following it for a while, and was curious to when it would be finished. Hopefully there will be video of your runs?

first day testing the car went a little scary. The Rx3 would not run straight down the quarter mile. on every single run my kid had to lift off the gas pedal halfway down the track. Suspension needed to be adjusted all over.
on the second day.. yesterday I made some phone calls and got some technical tips on suspension adjustment, I did some adjustment and went for a cautious run. The Rx3 went straight and ran 11.22@122mph on what I consider a cruising run. for the second test run I told my kid to go for the gold and put the engine on the rev limiter. she did but the car broke traction and we lost the run. the was the last run of the day.. track was loaded with cars.. I have found pics of the car online.. I'll have someone post them up.. so far so good. the car is being tested all motor no nitrous until I feel the car is running straight enough to apply the nitrous.. |
online pictures are on www.davemilcarek.com.. go to atco raceway photo gallery.. you'll see pics taking on 11-19-05 click there.. on page 2 and page 10 pics are taking.. if someone could host them here on this thread. go for it.. thanks

Yes josh 122mph all motor. car will run 125 to 127 all motor. yes I'm happy took a long time.. theres a pic of a big smile on my face in the back ground.. Yeah that smile on your face on page 10 tells everything. It's all worth it at the end. Now throw the NOS on it and see what that car can really do. Congrats and continued success. Can't wait to get my car done and have that Koolaid smile on my face. By the way how old is your daughter that drives the car? My wife hates the idea of me letting my daughter drive my car. But she is only a year old right now and has a couple of years to go before she gets into the seat. I'm getting old and fat it's getting hard to get into a car with a full cage. Need to get someone who is younger and weighs less than me. I"m always trying to cut weight out of my little Datsun 1200 looks like next thing is to cut me out of it. LOL. Congratulations again. |

Hey Judge, how do you have the nitrous wired? Is it on a throttle switch, clutch switch, or a button?

Congrats for sure! I'd love to see some video of it https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Josh my first stage is on a throttle switch, and the second stage is of the clutch switch with a progressive nitrous controler. So, when you bounce it off the limiter at the line, are you at full throttle, and the nitrous engaged? Or do you bring it on the limiter with about 3/4 throttle, then go WOT when you come off the clutch? I watch the Puerto Rico videos and they shoot quite a bit of flame, and I always wondered if its because they possibly have no muffler, or if the are banging the limiter with the nitrous. Mine shoots flame, but only about 12 inches, not 3 or 4 feet like the PR cars. |
when I used nitrous on previous cars. I take off the rev limiter and just before I launch I go to WOT.. on the Rx3 I'll try something different.

Has anymore testing or dyno time taken place with your car JUDGE?

I don't think you would get ANY traction in this type of weather. Too cold for the strip. Good luck in FL Judge.
