I've found a JDM 13b turbo S5 engine that came with an auto trans. Is this the same as a 13b S5 that came with a manual trans? Are there any differences and if so, what are they? I ask because I'm aware of other factory turbo cars, that when mated to an auto trans the turbos are typically smaller. Along with injectors, cams, manifolding ect. Is it the same in the rotary world?

Ok, I'm not incredibly well edjucated here. When you say "rear plate", are you refering to the flex plate needed by an auto trans in relation to a flywheel with a manual trans? Or is the rear section of the motor itself different? And in that case, can a fltwheel be mounted as normal, and can this motor be used with a manual trans?

rear section of the motor, it's becuse the starter is in the opposite position as a manual gear box

the bellhousing will get 4 out of 6 bolts lined up unless you modify them to work...but yes, other than that the flywheel will go on, etc...

on the t2 motor all you need to do is put a pilot bearing and flywheel on it and its a stick, the fd's and cosmo's are the ones with the different rear housing

Kinda like stumped me there awhile ago, with the rear housing info https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/unsure.png https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blink.png . As far as I know S4/S5 automatic and stick rear housings are all the same. All you need to do is get a turbo II flywheel, turbo II starter and pilot bearing and you good to go. The N/A Tranny uses a different starter, flywheel and smaller clutch/pressure plate setup, also not as strong as the turbo II tranny, but can be made to work with a whole lot more modifications etc. So try to stick with the Turbo stuff for your setup, less hassle. Trust me I have been there.
