Boat anchors!!

They are not quite boat anchors. One minute in the parts washer had the goop cleaned off of them and the surface actually looked better than the plates I used in my rebuild.

yeah that's awesome

Thats nasty Carmon. Lewis has numerous E-shafts if your interested. I could probably pick one up for you if you want me to. I should have my engine assembled this weekend if I can make it there. I'm real busy at work for the next month with a new install so time is limited on when I can get there to work.

haha that's crazy! let's see the cleaned components

The e-shaft didn't look that bad in the pic. How are the rest of the parts looking?

Camron

After your done cleaning you'll have to check those housings for warpage, and spec/check everthingelse. I can't tell for sure, but from the looks of it, something gave way on those housing to mix the fluids that way. It also looks like they had got past the water seal there, but that may have happened after you pryed the housings apart.

Nah, it's gotta be that block sealer garbage. Just get another E-shaft and check for warpage and inspect the front cover.

Ya maybe.

Man, what a mess. Here's a couple of pics of my 13B PP after I stripped it out of the car. Positively clean compared to those pics.

This engine hasn't been touched for 5 years of regular competition!

mazda_racer 10-20-2003 01:45 AM

And here's a pic of the rotor - as it came out of the engine. No cleaning.

And a mockup of the engine - I'm still waiting for internals (new rotors, e-shaft, apex seals, front and rear stationary gears)

Cheers

Peter
