hi

well i dont know if this the right forum for this question but, me and my friend we been thinking for a while now of putting the old FI sistem of my GSLSE on his 12a engine, just for a base setup and go from there. the question i have is if the position of the injectors will afect the car's HP and torque? because im was thinking of welding two injectors bung on the primary ports of the upper GSLSE manifold because the 12a doesnt have holes for injectors. and the RB lower intake i dont think there's enought space for bungs and injectors. well i need some imputs too of how we can do this. thanks

In general, you want the injectors to be as close to the combustion chamber as possible. The longer the distance between the injector and the chamber, and the more curvy the path, the more likely it is that the fuel will collect into bigger droplets, drop out of the air flow, or puddle.

This will affect horsepower somewhat, but even a compromized FI system will produce more power and have better driveability than a carbed system.

there was a debate about this recently on the forum. i think like Feds said the closer the better throttle response you get and i think better fuel economy? correct me if im wrong.

yes, in the single turbo section

to sum it up:

near to the chamber: nice response in lower rpm ranges.

away from the chamber: more power due to better fuel-atomization.

of course, what i write is VERY simplified (but i hope true, at least)
