Here's a question out of left field. I know on piston engines an unequal length header is often used in order to broaden the power band. Would this effect also work on a rotary intake? The principles are the same I should think. Would there be any merit to building an intake with four unequal length runners? Or is there something I'm missing (again)?

Short answer yes.



Long answer relates to fact that you have different timings between primary and secondary ports as well to play with.

Actually, Its very much the opposite. Now that I have some time on the megasquirt, and the afm gone, I can say the stock manifold is the big power killer on my setup. My engine is still pulling hard at 9500 rpm, but the hp gains from the MS were minimal below the 8600 rpm rev limit of the stock ecu.



Ill try to get a dyno comparison between the stock manifold and the custom one I have in the works.

yes we gained less than 6hp by going to a standalone, granted it was on different dynos, on different days..... stock ports per the rules

the stock s4/s5 afm will not become a restriction for most. esp under 200whp

Just a quick fore warning, im running roller barrell throttle bodies and a single turbo on my pulsar gti-r and it was an absoloute pig to get running. Granted some of this was due to leakeage problems in the TB's under high boost but even so there was major head scratching and days on the rolling road to get anywere near decent.

Im working on a system to run a screw charger atm aswell and most of the parts are here and ready so its going to be even more mapping fun https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png



P.s can anyone give me a rotor assembly weight for a 20b engine? Theres a distinct possibility of a 4rotor sprint car in the near future and i need to know roughly what its going to weigh while the final chassis plans are being sorted.
