there are really no alternatives to the internals. for something that gets abused a good amoutn they dotn really like over 400whp, things break more often, it realyl depends a lot on the setup...

So is 400hp at the engine possible? How much boost pressure would one need?

you can do that with a street port at about 12 psi and a t04e turbine,

or about 15 psi with stock ports should be about 400 at engine.

Rotarys aren't like pistons. You don't have to upgrade the internals when their modified in a high hp application. The internals will handle pretty much damn near anything. Do some porting; make sure you have enough fuel; and make sure the tunning is correct. Tuning is the most important thing.

Whats the first thing that will give?

usually it leans out and blows up, most turbos do. a lot of it is from tunning like was said earlier. these motors are frigile then dont like to detonate and still be hammerd on, they destruct much faster on detonation then piston engines.

Which 13B? there are differences. some can handle more than others.



if the engine is S5 , you don't have to street port it unless you want to make over 500whp, and an S6 can make even more. The castings on the housings are strong and so are the internals. depending on the turbo size, tuning and supporting mods, you can make 400 at the engine with 10 psi on a stock engine.



I'm going to be testing the power threshold of a stock 13B-REW very soon, We'll see how long it lasts.

Would a 4 port Iron be any stronger than a 6 port Iron? Keeping that both would be either a S4 or S5.
