Is it hard to do a rebuild your self. Even so, I want to try it myself. I've heard theres a video. How much Are parts, Is there any special things i need to know before I enbark on this journey. All helpfull repies are welcomed.

Jay, it's not supposed to be that bad. It's clearanceing the seals that is really the only thing that takes any brains from what I can tell.

The rest is just going slow and following the workshop manual guidelines.

Other than that this topic has been discused in detail in teh engine building forum. Spend a couple of days there and you should be ready to go...

I finished my first rebuild three weeks ago. I used the Atkins (Turrentine) video, I probably watched it 10 times. I still have a TV and VCR in my garage.



Cleaning the side housings and rotors has to be the hardest part. Assembly is easy as long as you go slow and follow directions. I have to say that swapping out the old motor for the rebuilt one was 3x as difficult as the rebuild itself. Take a look at a thread in the section called "I finally did it!" or something close to that. That outlines everything I have done in the last 3 weeks.
