I am going to use earls fittings on everything that I can on my engine from rrfpr to carbs and from oil cooler lines to oil feed lines. So what I am working with here is a holley dual inlet carb (4150) an aeromotive rrfpr and the likes. What I am wondering is if I should go with a black breided hose which I think is more race like or should I go with the stainless braided hose for mor of a show look.



If any one has any pics of there engine bay with AN style fittings, please post some here so I can see what yours looks like. Thanks guys.

I recommend using the auto-flex stainless steel braided line. I get most of my stuff online at http://www.amstreetrod.com/ . Their online prices are very reasonable; much much cheaper than retail and very good customer service. I build all of my own line 'n fittings here.

I use -10AN oil cooler lines both front and rear, a -6AN oil "loop line" from the oil filter stand adaptor block to the front iron housing, -6AN fuel line (feed, return, and rails), -4AN oil pressure gauge (mechanical) line, and -4AN turbo oil feed line. The great thing about AN stuff is the fact that it seems to last just about forever and a day as well as is quite easy to take off and put back on via the re-usable fittings, etc. It's so much better than hose clamps and inferior plumbing lines.

Looks great. Do you think for my application that an -08an line from the fuel cell to the rrfpr, then 2x -06an lines to the carb will be too big? This will be fed by a holley blue fuel pump. Thanks.

Sounds good to me. I've been doing a bit of research with Tony over this same thing and we've come to nearly the same conclusion.

Oh, nevermind, I see what the -06an line looks like, seems to be just right for fuel.

the black "fabric" line is about 50% lighter than stainless, and seems easier on the eyes than the stainless stuff. personally i would use black for fuel and power steering applications, and stainless for oil stuff https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683827.gif

The "Black" Line you are referring to is actually the Prolite 350 hose from earls. Prolite 350 hose actually has a NOMEX braid covering the hose. It is much lighter, even more fire retardant than Stainless braided hose, and is about Twice as expensive.



I will post some pics of my stainless lines in a moment, I have 2 more to build today. I do plan on running at least 1 nomex braided line for my vaccum booster from my intake manifold.
