I was just doing my business in my favorite room and reading the old trustworthy workshop manual.

I was looking at the inspection procedures for fuel lines.

Anyone ever replaced them to know the cost?

I thought that if it is cheap enough (within reason) they should be replaced reguadless if you have the engine out and the time to do it.

I always feel bad when I read these stories of guys losing the entire car in a car fire.

Do these lives deteriorate that much (my car is a 93) that they start leaking?

Or do their connections get loose and faulty?

Any thoughts or comments?

Is that from a Mazda dealership?

yeah you get that from mazda.

I would prolly replace at least the ones around the engine...to prevent fires if they leak.

Doing braided stainless is gonna cost a **** ton of money, mostly for all the fittings you will need.

we have looked and around here we cant get high pressure fuel hose that is anywhere near the quality of 10year old mazda hose. i had some gates hose on the 20b for about 50miles, and i had to replace it because it was bad

Two words: Fire Extinguisher The mod every car should have...

$20 @ Home Depot.

A local shop, MazCare, gave me some Choline (sp?) fuel hose.

Best I've ever seen. Not sure where they source it. Can check though.
