what do you guys think? I need to do some more finesse work but I think they came out great for a first timer.

Not bad at all, I would polish the closing line like a strip of chrome. This to eliminate side seal wear.

did you make a picture of the RB template laying over the original port size for comparison? I would be really interested to see that match.

Please send it to speedworks@pandora.be

Many thanks

Unfortunately, I did not. The amount of porting is pretty slight. I think that it was actually pretty easy. It's true what they say about it being more like art. I used to do a lot of airbrushing and the same skill sets apply. Thanks for the advice lynn, I will surely put it to use.

i agree. they came out great for a first-timer. as you said, a little more work to smooth the surfaces a bit more and you'll be good to go.

How much did the templates run you?

therx7ist 11-29-2005 07:43 AM

The intake template was 39.00 and the exhaust was 29.00.

therx7ist 12-01-2005 10:58 AM

I will hopefully start porting the exhaust today, if I can just muster up some damn motivation after work. There is an on going battle between my couch and my motor. The couch has been kicking my motors ass for the last 3 weeks.

Nice job. Doing my 3rd ported motor now and I was wondering how far towards the center(shaft opening) is safe to port and worthwhile?

None!!....dont port any closer towards the E-shaft than it is stock.

You'll be porting into the Oil control rings path and it would make no difference.
