few questions from a new b builder. the oil pump chain... it dosnt come in my rebuild kit. where can i get one? and do they make stronger ones, or factory mazda is all thats available?



Race rotor bearing from atkins. worh the money (120 each) ummm....i am new so...are there 1 or 2 rotor bearings in each rotor? also, ill be going hitting 9000 when i "abuse" my car. also a daily driver. build is for fun. not serious business.



rotor oil seal set. not included in my RotaryAviation rebuild kit (basic) do i need it? where to get it? where to get a better one?



and finally...does anyone know some good gard to find sites for good info and better products? like aftermarket intake manifolds (not carburator ones). throttle bodies. ill be going N/A. TII motor with 9.7 rotors. planning on using FD Upper Mannifold and throttle body. ummm...wel thats it for now. thanks to all thast help.

I'm pretty sure that 1 rotor takes 1 bearing. (IMO) I think its well worth the $120 each for the atkins race bearings...And if you plan to hit high RPM's with it you might want a new oil press regulater www.racingbeat.com has 2 good ones. one puts out 85PSI??(street) and the other 110PSI??(race) The race reg will be a bit harder on your oil pump. you can also get a mazda factory race (MFR) oil pump from them but thats for extreme cases...



Always replace the rotor oil seals in a rebuild. They are prone to going out in the rotary.

do you think i will need a stronger oil pump than the stock turbo II. ill be using the free flow thermal pellet from atkins. also what does the "High Flow Eccentric Shaft Oil Jet" do? more oil to the e-shaft ? where do they go. and how many do i need? they are pretty cheap and when i rebuild this motor i want it to last. so im trying to get all the good stuff now.

what does the rotor oil seal set consist of? i found things that seem like there it. but dont wanna buy **** i dont need. thanks

The oil control rings consists of metal rings with "silicone" seals inside them. i would replace the whole part (not just the rubber-silicone seal thats inside them.



The thermal pellet is nice because it flows oil to the rotors right from start up. The stock unit flows no oil till the car hase reached temp, And if it fouls up say goodbye to your engine. Replacing the Eccentric Shaft Oil Jet with the weber convertion is awsome it sprays way more oil in the inside of the rotor. Thus, cooling the rotor way more, That way you can run more boost?



I dont think you would need a better oil pump, Unless you plan on going full race? I heard that if you can get the 93+ oil pump it's a good upgrade(It pushes 110 PSI stock)

Oh yeah... I think you only need 2 jets per shaft??

Actually, the jet is smaller.

It sprays less oil into the rotors.

The purpose is to provide more flow to the bearings.

Its use is somewhat controversial.

I know the jet is smaller. you can also fit a few sizes in there.(2.00, 2.20..ect) I read somthing about it flowing more because of the removale of the ball and spring assy... I just pass on what racingbeat has passed on to me...I should reread to make sure....

The ball and spring are bypassed when the oil pressure comes up. They are no restriction to flow.
