I want to get everyones opinion on the whole extrude hone process. I was thinking about honing my UIM/LIM.

Would the benefit outweigh the cost?

I want to make the engine breathe as much as possibe (stock turbos for now).

I already have a Nice DP and Racing Beat/RSR exhaust (twin tip), and I am thinking about a larger SMIC, Random Tech CAT, and some form of boost/fuel managment (haven't decided yet).

I think that honing would improve both the throttle & boost response.

Any thoughts??

Erik

Have you priced it? From what Ive seen, the gains are small, but the price tag is not.

I would not hone. If you are going to do that then have a custom manifold fabricated for you. Or try Teflon coating the manifold, it increases flow 15% be about 275$ if your interested.

Teflon coated? I've never heard of it. Care to elaborate?

It is a baked coating applied to the inside of the manifold "also availabe for iron ports" that provides a friction free surface to increase flow. Flow bench results are 15% on avg.
