I am about to start my Turbo S5 build, And I am wondering what would be the best prelube to use..????

I think Atkins uses petrolium jelly..

Haynes book say molygraph based grease..

I have heard "synthetic grease"

Thanks guys

Petrolium jelly to keep the water seals in place. I would not use it for the bearings or any other surface besides the water seals. I recommend moly base engine assembly lube for the bearings, a little on the side, corner, apex seals, and oil rings. I also like to put a light coat of oil on the side housings and rotor housings....others I know do not, but this has always worked for me.

good luck with your build.

well sounds like Petrolium jelly is the stuff to use.... I wonder what mazda uses for there builds..???

atkins puts it everywhere. as do i.

bearings, housing, and plates. i also use it to hold all seals and springs on the rotors in place during assembly. i do not put it on the water jackets. its been said to ruin them. use hylomar to hold down both water seals (inner and outer) and o-rings around the dowel pins.

ive used all kinds of stuff, my current fav is the redline grease.

i still use vaseline on the water seals and to keep the seals in the rotor, but everything else gets a coat of redline, and it was easier to put it together

So there is somebody out there that uses synthetic grease... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.gif so both vaseline and synthetic grease are probably good choices!!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif
