heres the deal.......

i have a sand rail that had an old 12a in it and it sat for a long asss time and the motor went to ****. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif

Now, i have a 13b that i came across basically for free. the problem is, fuel injection requires ecu and a bunch of wiring that can get fucked up if its put on the rail since its used as a recreational offroad vehicle.

SOOOOOO, my question is, is there a intake manifold made for a 13b to run a carb or would it have to be custom piece????

No problemo, www.racingbeat.com is what you need https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

The easiest is to put a holley on it, but you can also go weber or dellorto...

I have a carburated 13B 6 port. Its running great. Have fun.

Intake manifold from racing beat.

Jay Tech also makes one but it costs a little more.

Don't forget to order your header flange when you get the intake. I say this because racing beat takes for ever and a day to ship stuff out.

thanks for the replies guys.... i thought i was gonna get flamed for asking something like that. i dont know much about rotary but im gonna have to start learning now. im actually a honda guy.

yea, the 12a had a holley 4barrel on it but its in need of a rebuild so ill just rebuild it and re use it.

thanks again for all the information.

also, how do you tell the difference between a 6 port and so on? is it the number of ports on the intake side?

yep. 4 port has 2 in the center and 2 on each end (like the 12a) and the 6 port's have the same center, with 4 ports on each end

for simplicity's sake, i'd say go for a Weber DCOE attached to a RB/Dell'Orto upper manifold. if you don't plan to streetport, then you should get the best adjustability for the least coin ...

thanks for all the help guys, once i get the money, ill be ordering the RB intake manifold for the holley. all thats left after that is making an adapter plate for the transmission(damn transaxles own me) and then itll be running...

i have all the fuel injection, intake manifold, ac compressor, and someother stuff from the 13b, dont know where to post it for sale since most forums have a "for sale"section.

Im quite sure that the 13B will bolt to the transmission that the 12A used to be on.

Most rotary endplates, if not all, has the same boltpattern for the transmission.

The picture of the engine you have is a 13B from 86-88 N/A yes it is a six port motor with 9.4 compression ratio. That would be a fun ride I just finished putting a 13b turbo together for someone with a mid travel sandrail. That thing hauls ass and rails hardly weigh anything. Looks like you will be having lots of fun in it.
