I have a Formula Mazda open wheel race car. Getting bored with its current state of acceleration. Thinking about building my own bridgeport since I ran a 12A bridgeport in a GT3 RX7 a few years back. I have a good set of light weight, high compression rotors and housings(13B). I have great piston engine building background but no experience with rotory. After speaking with Racing Beat about their Holley setup, I got the impression that a bridgeported 8500 rpm 13B requires a serious look at clearances and other secrets that only an experienced race engine builder would know. Their advice was to have a shop build it. I've never listened to good advice and would like some input into what the field people have to say. Is the clearance and secret build info available in some written guidline form, somewhere?

I would appreciate any info and/or opinions on this idea. Also, does anyone have a good set of 4 port turbo irons for a 13B (1987 or newer)?

you could send out the parts for machining and such, then get them back and stack the motor yoruself.

I hope to one day know enough to be in the place that you are. I dont know much about building engines, but I know that the closer you get your seals, springs, and housings to spec, the better compression have you will. Jk Good luck with the build.
