HEY GUYS IN MY FUTURE BULD UP I WAS WANTING TO BULD A P-PORT TURBO MOTOR. IN STEAD OF SCRAPING MY N/A MOTOR AND BUYING A TII MOTOR JUST TO SCRAP THOSE ROTOR HOUSINGS. CAN I JUST USE THE ESHAFT, FRONT, INTERMEDIATE, AND TAIL PLATES WITH THE NEW P-PORT HOUSINGS. OR IS IT DIFFERENT ALL TOGETHER. I KNOW IF IT WOULD WORK I WOULD HAVE TO GET TURBO ROTORS FOR THE LOWERCOMPRESSION. SORRY FOR THE ELEMENTRY QUESTIONS BUT I AM DOING AS MUCH RESERCH AS I CAN ON THIS WONDERFULL MOTOR. THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE HELPFUL INFO.

Why are you yelling at us?

mazdaspeed7 02-26-2004 05:57 PM

You can start by turning off the caps lock.

Whatever block you choose, the ports on the engine irons will need to be filled, and new PP rotor housings will be needed.

Most importantly, do have any idea what youre getting into here? It sounds like you have a lot of reading to do.

Either filled OR blocked off at the manifold side by a block off plate...

and I hope you know you'll need quite a massive turbo to keep up with the flow of a PPort...

Not to mention all the other associated hassles that come with making that much power.

Check out Paul Yaw's web site under pictures. He builds 13BPports with an aluminum insert and a hole bored through a stock rotor housing. Very nice.

I did it with a 12A and some .063 exhaust pipe tubing and Devcon plastic aluminum. Not as nice looking but effective.

Any iron set in good condition will work fine. The side ports are filled with Devcon plastic steel.

Not a big deal at all. Go for it.

The picture is of a home made P port and a factory Pport.

The troops are talking about internet etiquette, wherein all caps is the same as yelling.

Yes.

Do you know what sort of price tag youre looking at for a PP turbo? You better bring a very big checkbook.

banzaitoyota 02-27-2004 10:05 AM

A hefty checkbook, Just the intake and exhaust components will set you back ~ 3 Grand. Thats not counting the engine and does not include tuning.
