I am researching which rotary has the best reliabilty, best design etc over the years. I have had several 10B,12A's but never a turbo car or a 13B car. I am building something kinda off the wall. The car will be a 30's styled track roadster with a rotary. If you could pick an all around driver/performer what woul you use and why?

the 84-85 gsl-se's rutinely go/went for 200,000+ miles, i can list many many examples with 250+
the 86-91 non turbos are the next most reliable |
i'd go with an streetported S5 non-turbo engine with exhaust and a custom intake setup.

This isn't so bad, except for how it leaks directly onto the coolant hoses beneath the oil pedestal. I have seen new heater hoses deteriorate to the point of failure in as little as 6 months, and that on a "mildly" leaky engine. Nothing much good has been said about rapid coolant loss due to hose rupture while at operating temps. |
