Alright i just got another rex shell and im putting a carbed 13b that i found in it. Problem is im a turbo fuel injected guy on my other rex so i dont know diddly on carbed sevens. The motor has twin side draft carbs and headers. I tried searching the forum but couldnt find what i needed as to the basics on getting it running ive heard people say i can run my fuel pump and ive heard people say to downgrade to a 12a pump and such. I can put the motor in and hook up the intake and exhaust no problem. What im asking you guys is what exactly do i need for a fuel setup (pump, regulator and lines) and ignition. the shell is a turbo2 shell so thats the harness im using for battery powers at least. I have a walbro 255 and an aeromotive fpr. Is that over kill? and how much fuel pressure should i run? any help would be great please teach a newer school rotary guy some old school tricks. Thanks.

You need a low pressure pump and regulator. EFI pumps are too high pressure for a carb(s).
I used a Holley "BLue" pump and regulator, works great but a little noisy. |

The side draft Webers use a little less than the downdraft 48s. Try 2 1/2 to 3 pounds max. Protect the carbs from header heat, lest the fuel boil. Lynn E. Hanover |
thanks you guys are awesome. Any suggestions on how to use my turbo2 harness to mount coils and run it to the distributor or did i nail it on the head right there? cause im not sure if it will even work do i run seperate coils and run the plug wires to the distributor? there are these two 4 spade male connectors at the base of the distributor is that where i run power? Now that i got the fuel system sorted i only need to know how to wire up the igniton system to my t2 harness and im good. Any more help greatly appreciated.

i meant 3 spade connector at the base of the distributor

Search:DLIDFIS for the ignition.
I ran the FC leading coil directly from the leading ignitor on the dist, then ran the plug wires right to the plugs, No dist cap involved. Trailing I ran 1 aftermarket coil off the trailing ignitor, then through the dist cap like normal. The car sounded and ran like the stock FC. |
