This is a bit of an old topic but i've spent some time searching to no avail.

I am getting set to rebuild my 1991 Turbo2 which has a damaged water seal groove (blown water seal etc).

I have been looking into porting the Engine while apart, it had occured to me to swap the Secondrys to 13b-re (cosmo) plates but they are getting a little hard to source in the UK, so i was thinking of using 13b-rew Secondry plates which gives me a head start to the Porting.

I have one main problem to over come being the Inlet manifold, with the Rew plates i have never compared the manifold stud/runner patern to the stock T2 Inlet.

Has anyone Done this before? I am thinking along the lines of which would be easyer, Fit a Third gen Lower/Upper inlet with the plates and adapt the primary runners or use the T2 manifolds and adapt the Secondrys? i Thought the Secondrys may be harder to open to the same size as the Rew plates this is why the use of the matching manifolds?

Before i'm asked i did think of using a complete Third gen engine but i did'nt fancy the idea of moving the engine mounts.

Thanks

Chris

dont quote me on this, but as long as u use teh center iron which is wher eteh mounts ar eon FCs u should be ok.

the LIMs all have, i beleive, hav ethe same bolt patter at the engine. the pattern that change was the one between the LIM and UIM...

FD Intermediate doesn't have the motor mount bolts on it....You must either use TII or Cosmo 13B.

Yep. They're not interchangeable unfortunately.

Ok, To save confusion.

If i was to use the T2 center plate, Rew Rotor housings and Rew End Plates with a Full Fd Inlet manifold would the only thing i'd have to sort out be the Size diffrence between the Primary Runners?

BDC, are you refering to the change Primary or Secondary Plates is not possable? or am i right in saying you where refering to the Primary Plate (due to the Engine mounts).

Thanks.

I can't remember if the FC intermediate and the FD intermediate have the same LIM bolt pattern, but if it does, they yes, you could bolt up the FD LIM and UIM to the engine. You would of course need to port match the runners(not sure if they're the same).
