I heard from a friend of mine, who used to build engines for some shop in gardena, that if you take a 13bRE and buy a kit from some company in japan to make it a 3 rotor. Is this true?
This guy is humpin stuff--> https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif |
While its not quite so simple, you have the right idea. A company called Precision Engineering in NZ modifies 13B housings and makes custom ecc shafts to make 13B based 3 rotor and 4 rotor engines. Ill post more info later. Ive got a full price list and email address for them.

well the way i heard it was that the japanese 13b's were easier to import than 20b's so what my friend would do was import the 13b from japan and another japanese company (whose name began with a d) made a 3 or 4 rotor conversion.

prices and contact info would be great...

There is no website for Precision Engineering to my knowledge. Here is the Hitmans page on his 13B based 3 rotor. Some more info here. from the Hitmans page Engine Designer The engine originated from New Zealand and was designed by Jeff Bruce from Precision Engineering. If you wish to purchase the parts required to build a similar project, in either 3 or 4 rotor , you can contact him by any of the following methods. Email : precisin@ihug.co.nz ICQ UIN: 15067117 Phone : +64 9 415 3264 Fax : +64 9 415 3265 I cant seem to find the price list I was sent. Ill get another copy and post it here is noone else has yet. |
not bad if u have money to "throw" away and access to the extra parts needed for the completion of the engine. i like the fact that the engine is shorter than a 20B, so its suitable for more applications.

if you're trying to build a real 20b though all the side housings and the eshaft are different, its actually cheaper just to buy the real 20b.

so if I have 2 13b's laying around, it's still cheaper to get an original 20b?
also, is there a "best" source for 20b's, running or not? I see them here and there, but I was just wondering if there's a place (online) that just has a regular supply. |
