Like I said in another thread I'm rebuilding my 13B-RE. This weekend I opened the engine and discovered that the rear rotor has been eaten by an apex seal. I have a s5 TII rotor. I want to know if I can use the good RE rotor with the s5 TII rotor.
Visually they look the same. Also, I know there is supposed to be a letter on rotors to specify which can be use together. But where is this letter, there is a ton of letters on the rotor. Another question about the RE. If I change rotor bearings and stationnary gears bearing, which one should I use ? 13BT or 13B-REW ? Thanks! |
they say you can interchange the rotors on a S5TII with a FD engine's rotor, they sare the same size and weight.
BUT! the FD rotor has their stationary gear hardened from the factory. They also say that FD-REW engines and RE cosmo engines share the same rotors. So i think if you can somehow replace the stationary gear then yes you can use it? |
It's basically the same thing.

Thanks I will use the TII rotor.
And for the bearings, which one should I get for the RE: 13BREW or 13BT ? |

It can be argued that that this is better. -Ted |

REW has a slightly deeper (and wider?) oil channel in the rotor bearing.
