Is everybody running the KONI single-adjustable inserts or are there good double-adjustable parts available for the FC these days? I'm trying to wake up a stalled racecar project... it's currently sitting on whatever MazdaComp sold about a decade ago...

what class are you runing in? if its ITS try the Dynamic double with out resivours and if its a EP or GT car go with the Dynamic with resivours. we ran both styles without in ITS and with res. in E Prod car. also check into Buddy club or if your budget really has no bottom use Moton. I myself am not a fan of the koni shocks . We like to custom valve ower shocks down at NewmanHass on there shock dyno for the differnt spring combos.

It'll be an SCCA ITE car or a NASA STx car -- so no real rules to worry about other than safety, Frey Racing built it up mostly as an EP car. It's a TurboII with a 60-1 HiFi turbo, etc, etc. I started building this car about 10 years ago back in Canada. It has all the suspension goodies MazdaComp offered at the time. Been through a couple of tough times with shops since moving to the SF Bay Area but I think it's time to wake the project up and get the car back on track. I've had good luck with Penskes since then on another of my cars which is why I was curious.

So, what have I missed in the last 7 or so years with regard to FC suspensions? I'm seeing there are finally some spherical set ups for the rear suspension, and slick camber adjusters, looks like the front suspension is still stuck with with delrin or the AWR needle bearings? There is a definite budget here for me, but I am a tinkerer.

My main issue right now is getting the Microtech ECU tuned, or sucking it up and putting a new ECU in the car. I'm talking with SR Motorsports right now but I think they'll want me to throw a TEC in.

I'll try to give you a call tomorrow or Friday. Thanks.

wo you still have that? i think i remember the website from a million years ago....

if you're still bay area local, we found a shock dyno at one of the shops at sears point, i think its like $20 a shock or something.

if you wanna get out and just run the damn car, koni's are fine. our data shows that running full soft vs full stiff at thunderhill is 2 tenths of a second in our 140hp honda.

by contrast working on the driver makes a much larger difference, like 2+ seconds
