As you all know Mazda is having a one day clinic/competition across the nation. It will be in the new 6 (unfortunately) and only costs 40 bucks. Should be fun with sneak peek at the RX8 and a bunch of games. I've signed up for the event in Philly, hope to see u there.

I'll be there! Never really autocrossed but I have done some parking lot showing off. Should be an experience.

I got the scoop from another thread how this will all work. You get 2 shots at setting a fast time. You 2 practice runs are on a totally different course. So when you run your timed runs it will be on a course you have never seen before. You do not get to do a walkthrough either. Your runs are cold.

It will be very inportant to try to look as far ahead as possible while driving. We did this drill in my Autocross driving schools. We would take 2 runs on a course cold never getting to see it or walk it. It can be done and you can get good times. I was beating the instructors who had seen these courses many times over. The key is looking as far ahead as you can.

Good luck guys lets show them that the Mazda owners are the real drivers.

I'll be in Miami on May 31st.

The car you use for practice is a bone stock Mazda6. The car you use for your timed runs is a slightly tuned Mazda6. It has a Cat-back, Falken Azenas, and Some Mazdaspeed suspension upgrades possibly springs and swaybars. So the car you practice with and the car you are timed in are slightly possibly majorly different. Depending on how tweeked the suspension is.

I have heard the hand shifted Auto tranny sucks it is very sluggish. The advice was to get it into 2nd gear and keep it there. It might bog down a little but you will loose time screwing with the tranny. I think I will mess with the tranny on the practice runs and decide if I should shift it.
