just got my FD a month ago. it was set up for drag racing. no front sway bar, MT ET street radials and 205-16's up front. KAAZ diff with 4.10's.

i ain't into drag racing anymore....too boring. i don't wanna waste my whole day at the track for about 60 seconds of seat time https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif

i've been opening tracking for 4 years with my old car that i just sold. did lime rock in 1:05:32 and pocono east 1:12:92.

anyway, here are the first basic mods i'm doing:

Heavy duty sway bar mount (my car is missing this mount and stock ones break):

will try to get oil cooler before the event...

and car is getting aligned today (close to petit's recommendations).

i have a line on a sparco evo seat, but i'm not sure it'll fit.

i will get 6 point chromoly rollbar with dual swingouts over the winter.

maybe next season get coilovers and BBK. just not sure which brands. koni/GC is a good combo, and i heard tein flex's are good too. and for BBK, i think stoptech. but then i need 18's too https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif 275 nitto RII's all around then?

anyway, first event is pocono aug 19 and 20 with PDA. anyone wanna come? it'll be awesome. first day is all 3 inner tracks; you pick whichever ones you want to do. the next day is the long course with double infield. should be insane!

i got the car tuned yesterday. here's the dyno graph:

sounds good. Before you make all the suspension mods, first see if the car understeers or oversteers and then make changes as you go. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

If you go 18s, get the Yokohama A048R 285/30/18. The best street legal 18 you can buy. The A048s are O.E. on the Sport Elise, so you know they did something right.

thanks for the info. are you referring to the 245-45-16's? or what i might get in the future, the 275's? i thought that guy GNX has 275's all around. but when the time comes for bigger rims/tires, i will definately do a lot of research to make sure there are no fitment issues.

i used hawks for last few years...HP+. dusting nightmare. heard good things about porterfields, so i'll try em out. cheap enough. if i don't like i'll look to blues. you use portfields on the track and didn't like them?

i use ATE super blue fluid https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif

i also race the M club at giants stadium. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

vosko 07-15-2005 11:56 AM

i was at lime rock last month with m 240sx with the new falken azenis rt615's and they are STICKY! when they got even stickier and have great rain traction

i tried autox once while i was in CT.........waste of time unless you have a stock miata....

i am going to pocono aug 1st with a few friends with rx7's and i may have the secret weapon ready https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

oil press on the fd goes over 100 psi make sure to get a gauge that can read over 100 psi. autometer only has the 150psi mechanical gauge.
