anyone know more about this.. |
I went to grattan last summer to check out rotaryrockets.com at their last race of the season, we were discussing doing fuel injection on their star mazda cars. The mechanic there told me the same thing, 180HP at the wheels. He said they use a vw transaxle and it's more efficient than the drivetrain you'll find in the rx-7 so thats one reason the output is higher than expected. What I observed was a star mazda intake manifold, looked like DCOE carburetion on it, and a open short exhaust. The engines were 'sealed' from the one authorized engine builder for the formula mazda events, he said it was a stock port 6 port engine, I'm not sure if they used t2 rotor housings or intermediate housings, but no port mods are allowed
I bet j9 has more information on these cars. |

wasnt clear on whether or not the hp was generated through motor enhancements.. such as porting.. id gather the different drivetrain isnt too much of a substantial gain.. |
the webster tranny on the star cars is that damn good amp. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
the motors are "blueprinted stock" 6-port motor with t2 housings |
