I'm sure this has been covered before but so far I've heard mixed opinions..I know an FB may not look lke a million bux,but I have an GSL-SE with a turbo II motor and drivetrain among other things, and was wondering how good of a car it will make for drifting..I have not been able to tune it yet or even drive it because I need to build the exhaust and figure out why it is smoking..But when thats sorted out I'd like to try drifting..Will this car make a good canditate??

hell yeah...ask me how i know.lol thats the greater reason why i want to get another FB. u can basically drift with any car, all it takes is practice. i had a gslse, and nearly gave up drag racing for drifting. its a whole lot more fun and theres greater room for improvement without modding your.

IT's good to know the FB will be a good canditate..I know it's easy to get the ass end out but it's all about how controllable it is once a slide is started..I guess its all in the suspension setup..MY car should be doing a good 350hp or so so I am gonna want to try 2nd and 3rd gear slides..I have experience with drifting in the snow and various surfaces in an AWD car during rallycross and such and at a high rate of speed at that..I DO love drag racing but I know drifting is going to be alot of fun for me,mabye too much lol..It's too bad my car is just getting together now that the weather sux..

1st gen is very very driftable...

We took my GSL-SE for the Need For Speed underground drifting event last time. With only header and intake, it was all it had for power... and suspension stuff.

The car was able to drift full control slide with no problem. Due to the way its rear suspension is designed, it is very easy to initiate the drift. Just have to work on keeping a higher speed slide.

forgot to mention, i will highly recommend the rack and pinon conversion for 1st gen... it makes a world of difference when controlling the car during high speed drifts.

i've drifted a gslse with the stock set up just intake and exhaust second gear drifts and a few thirds (mainly mistakes corrected lol) but the car is ill for it... peace

my friend has a gsl-se and he can throw it out there like nobodys business haha but its hard to correct because the wheel has a TON of slack needs the rack conversion asap

I started in a FB. As far as potential I would say it is better than FC, however the steering is a little sloppy. With a TII motor in it you will have PLENTY power. It is a little more unstable compared to FC but power to weight ration will compensate for that a bit. FB is gawd.
