Has anyone discussed auto-x with their auto insurance company? Are most companies ok with it? I called my agent just to be sure, and he had no idea what the heck I was talking about. Just wondering what your experiences have been.

Dude, how the hell you gonna wreck your car on Autox? hitting cones?

mazdadrifter 01-20-2005 10:06 AM

yeah that's covered under the "don't ask, don't tell" paragraph in the policy

honstly, tho. Your standard civilian car insurance won't cover you on anything while your participating in a timed event. No insurance company will. Open track days can be worded in such a way that maybe it could be covered under "driving instruction" or something of the sort.

but no, your not covered while racing

Ok, just wondering. I'd hate to have a blow-out or something like a wheel fall off, and have it careen into a pristine FD. I guess I'll go with the "don't ask don't tell." But I called State Farm and asked, hopefully they don't cancel me just for asking.

This is why events had Safety Stewerts at them. They look the site over and the course layout to make sure there is ZERO chance of a car coming in contact with anything other than a cone.... or a course worker.

Unfortunatly not everything is fool proof or Corvette proof.

Except we're gonna have safety strippers at the winter retreat. Chicks in bikini's that walk around and look supple.

i saw an rsx go completely off course and knock over a light pole once. No one could figure out how it happened other than the guy just decided to drive into a light pole.
