horsepowerfreeaks.com shipped me a Koyo rad that arrived loose in the box and pretty beat up. after some BS, they sent a replacement in the same crappy packaging and it ended up in the same crappy shape.
i get the impression most places just ship stuff out of a warehouse without doublechecking that there's enough packaging to make it through the gauntlet of UPS/FedEx. apparently the Koyo comes pretty lightly packed from the factory. who have you guys had success ordering a Koyo from? (this is a rad for an 89 T2 which has the big ass fill spout protruding from the driver's side) |
I ordered my Koyo through RX7trix.com. It shipped from 1-800-radiator or something like that. Arrived in GREAT shape.

that's good news.. did they ship it in the Koyo factory packaging or did they rebox/double box it?

anybody had this kind of good luck with the S5 Koyo which sports the filler neck/chrome phallus on the driver's side?

i got mine on ebay from probably the same warehouse.
came in the factory box packed amazing. perfect condition |
I got my Koyo from radiators.com and had no problems. Plus they will beat any on-line price you can find.

Can they beat the $189 sales slip to rx7trix.com that's in my Radiator box? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

whelp i just snagged a Koyo being sold by radiatorauctions.com aka 1800radiator.com aka radiator.com on eBay.
i was skeptical of them (3 DBA's?) but from what you guys have said and a little research on my part it sounds like they have had enough experience with rads getting munged in shipment to pack stuff right the first time. it should be here Fri... everbody send calming vibes to the FedEx guys handling to the box https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png |
this makes number 3..
picked up the Koyo from FedEx today, opened it up in the parking lot for a quick glance and saw that radiators.com had used the expanding foam stuff to pack it -- nice touch, made me feel all warm and fuzzy about finally getting my car on the road. got it all home and took it out for a closer look.. found a dent in the side of the core and bent pressure cap receptacle. looks like another rad spent its trip bouncing around inside the box. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif take 4... |
