So I know how a RX works (www.howthingswork.com) and all. But how exactly do you guys go about modding them, enternally anyway ? I know most of us with your average typical piston powerd reciprocating engines usually bore and stroke with the upgradded valvetrain and stuff like that. So how does all this work in terms of a big triangle ? My friend tried to explain it to me but didn't do a very good job. Can any of you guys shine some light on teh subject ?

you just have to force more fuel and air into it and it makes more power.... pretty simple actually https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

and you can do that by ways of forced induction (also discussed on www.howstuffworks.com, with either turbo or supercharger)

also, as you would expand the ports for the intake and exhaust on a piston engine for freer and higher volume flow, you can do the same on a rotary, except that you don't need different cams and valves, you just cut the hole bigger

O ok,so nothing "incredably" different. I just thought it might because of the difference in operation and well, lak of traditional parts, you know ? While we are on the subject of RX-7's what do you guys suggest as a good motor or the best in some casses ?

"good" or "best" are so subjective

I'm guessing, from what I've read, that your decision on best motor would have to depend on several factors that you choose. For instance, is "better" faster? Or is reliability an issue in the choice for the best motor? If the best is the most reliable, you would get a different answer than if the best was the most powerful.

Then you could throw in cost, ease of maintenance, and I'm sure other stuff. Before coming up with an answer, you need to define your parameters. Otherwise, you'll just come up with opinions.
