Hey guys i had to pull out my turbos on the FD due to a horiffic Down pipe install problem. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif (stud broke) Anyway it looks like my smaller turbo is leaking oil. Should i just rebuild it and put it back together. Or should i look at upgrading my stock turbos. With all the balancing and everything i think i will be spending 250 on the rebuild. What are my options, keeping the idea that I DO NOT WANT TO GO SINGLE TURBO. ANy opinons are appreciated.



By the way my car is very lightly modified. I only have a Down Pipe and intake on my car.

i hear ya man. i tried to do a downpipe and we had ended up with 3 broken studs doh!

Well if you dont want to go single, then just rebuild you stock turbo, Stock turbos I believe can take you to the 390Hp at the flywheel, I cant remember exactly how much hp, but its good enough for High 11 second 1/4 passes.

There is however twin turbo kits, but they are pretty expensive as a single turbo kit, and if you dont have the cash right now, it shouldnt be an option.

i just pulled the stock turbos off my car. 51k, no smoking, no cracks, very little shaft play. if you are interested, let me know.

There are a lot of places that will do stock rebuilds. I would rebuild now since you have them out. You don't want to risk any damage putting it back in. Or just spend the money and go with a single Turbo, halteck, fuel upgrade, boost controller etc...... just kidding, it would be cool though. I sent my old turbo to MAJESTIC Turbo. They did a good job and it only took a day to rebuild it. Good Luck!

most rebuilt stock turbos are JUNK! well most that i have seen/heard about.........

Check with BNR. My friend has a set of thier stage 3 turbos(stcok turbos rebuilt w/ upgrade). He's running 13psi and no V8 in this town comes close to him. Most of them don't even want to mess with him. I believe Gotham Racing can give you contact info for BNR or you can just have Gotham send them off for you. Thier website is www.gothamracing.com.

well i have decided that do to the low amount of $$$ in the checking account, to re-install the old turbos for now. By the way down pipes ******* suck!!!! Anyway i think i might consider that upgrade 7 mech was talking about in the summer. Anyone else have this done, or something close to it? What kind of $ we talking?
