Any one make a tail pipe probe for their wide band meter? I made this one yesterday but it isn't working out the best so far. At idle it doesn't read accurate or at light loads. I'm thinking if I just extend the tube a couple inches in each direction it will fix the problem of outside air hitting the sensor. Thoughts?

Thanks

yah, maybe the tailpipe need to be longer?

Yeah, needs to be longer on both sides I found out last night.

mine is just in the DP......works great

i'd be worried about my million dollar WBo2 sensor falling and smashing on the road at 140mph lol

hey what does a tail pipe probe do???and why did the sidess need to be extended

setzep 10-28-2003 07:33 PM

Bah! It's held on good. The C clamp works like a champ.

It's for my wide band o2 meter. By screwing the sensor onto a probe you can put it on any car in 10 seconds.

so u drive around with it sticking out or wat....sorry for the apparently stupid question....i dont really know EVERYTHING cars

Yeah, I drive around with it hanging out just like in the pic.

Well good news! Making the probe 16" long vs the old 8" makes a HUGE difference. It actually reads accurate at idle now! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

why don't you weld a bung for it further up the exhaust? that way you can actually screw it in.

I have a bung in the mid pipe BUT the whole purpose of a tail pipe probe is to be able to tune other cars easily. It's a lot easier to unscrew the C clamp and take the probe off then it is to jack up the car, find my 7/8" wrench, unscrew the sensor, find the plug, find the alen wrench to install the plug, install the plug, and lower the car. I think you get the idea https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png
