How reliable could a supercharger be in a n/a? I know that running boost in a n/a engine wouldn't last too long from what I read, I'm begining my proyect I'm gonna street port and rebuild my engine, get a stand alone Ecu get 720cc on the sec and 550cc on the primaries and the Camden EFI Supercharger caught my eye but still in development, My question is what could I upgrade or change while i'm rebuilding? Since i'm gonna have constant boost if I get that supercharger, wich would be the best set up???

Well...... All i knnow is that a friend of mine bought a supercharged FC (GXL) and went through 3 motors untill he finally gave up and went turbo.

Bad tuning maybe???

acually i just talk to him today. He said it was because he did not have it haultecked. So i think it would be fine if you did.

If you are rebuilding it why not replace the rotors with lower compression turbo rotors? Then you will be able to boost it a bit more w/o risking detonation.



I have toyed with the idea of a S/C (SUPERCHARGED) rotary. Especially after driving my Mini and a S/C Miata. The S/c (SUPERCHARGED) power comes on so much sooner and is more fluid.

I would leave the stock rotors, and just underdrive the SC.



Because most SC cut out in the higher RPM's, that way you would still be running good power at high RPM's.



Or at least like 4-71/6-71/8-71/.... get worse as the RPM's go up. I don't know about a camden/paxton or something like that.

Thats weird, my Mini is making 12-14 PSI (POUNDS PER SQUARE INCH) all the way up to the 7250RPM (REVOLUTIONS PER MINUTE)redline.



I have no clue what S/C (SUPERCHARGER) my Mini has on it though.



My reason for the turbo rotors was because I was thinking that he would only be able to run maybe 5 PSI (POUNDS PER SQUARE INCH) with the N/A's.(NATURALLY ASPIRATED)



I am by no stretch an expert on this just trying to apply my Turbo knowledge to the S/C(SUPERCHARGER). I was thinking the S/C (SUPERCHARGER) would be happier at 10-14 PSI (POUNDS PER SQUARE INCH) but I could be all wrong.

I don't know about ALL the blowers by any means either.



I'm just saying like the 4-71 wieland (sp?) blowers and the ones like that, run out of steam at higher RPM's, there made for low RPM's engines. Or most are...

RPM = Revolution Per Minute

S/C = Supercharger

N/A = Naturally Aspirated

PSI = Pounds Per Square Inch





Which one of these abbreviations were confusing you to the point you felt it necessary to ask us to stop using them??
