This is very sad.

Last year, about November (2010), I ordered a customised Sterling Carb for my 12A.

I was 'informed' that I may not receive it until February 2011.

After about March I sent an Email enquiry about what was happening about 'my order'.

I got no reply. Since then I have sent 3 Emails asking/pleading about 'what was happening'.

I have got no reply. Unfortunately they 'Sterling' have lost me as a customer.

Such a pity. I was really looking forward to using their product.

I now have to compromise on a different setup.

This seems to be a trend. there is also posts about this on Rx7club. Sterling is usually over there more often I suggest you use that board to try and contact him. I don't know him, but he had an amazing reputation for years. I don't know what has happeneed over this last winter, but if you're diligent with your pursuit I'd like to hope you'll get your issue resolved.

it took 4 months to get a sterling for a customers car im working on. sterling said the reason was due to hard times he had to pick up a full time job and do the carb thing only as a side project now. im highly dissapointed as the sterling that i received is junk, the car ran better with the original carb and the new sterling will not start or idle on its own no matter what i do to the car.

what a shame.

i did an install of a sterling, and that's what happened too. its a long story, but the owner of the car bought one of the first sterlings, and it got bent in shipping, which is why all the later ones are screwed to a piece of wood...

but anyways, he ordered another and #2 was a POS. sterling actually was pretty responsive, the product was kind of sketchy but his customer service was actually really good. it turned out to be a bad metering block, which is kind of weird. i took the metering block from the #1 and put it on the #2 and it worked.

since then i've actually found that our local high school's auto shop teacher has been building carbs like this since the 70's, so don't be afraid to open the throttle and look down and see what's blocking it...

i know time is an issue, but he basically just puts shorter screws in the throttle plates (the stock ones take up like half the opening!), trim the throttle shafts down (again HUGE stock), he cuts the vanturi's bigger, which is tricky. he also trims the air bleeds so you can use holley parts, but it leaves am so thin they break/don't come out!

i could ask, but i could maybe put you in touch with Mr Camicia, he's the shop teacher @ the local high school, so he could have his kids build you one https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683473.gif

they actually do some hardcore projects, but he's got an auto-x rx3 and rx7 that are badass
