I have a Series 6 RX7 which currently houses a standard 13b REW engine. I want to replace it with a Series 7 preferably 8 powerplant within the next 3 months and am actively and genuinely seeking a front cut with computer etc. The later the model the better my car is a '94 so anything later than that could be useful. Obviously I'm trying to source the best price, quality and possibly garuntee. I'm in the process of pulling out the 13b REW and am looking to sell if anybody is interested. Yes Series 7 and 8 both rarer than the 6 obviously, they were never released through delearships in Australia but there are a few on the road which have been imported and complianced. At the moment REVS at Pooraka are advertising whole Series 8s for sale but not front cuts. Have found a Series 7 front cut coming in from japan in around 2 months for roughly $4000 through a friend but would rather look it first before making decision. Have you not heard of the Spirit R, charcoal in colour capped the 'Series 9" and final of the entire Series. I am located in the Adelaide Hills.

I was under the impression that late 92-98 were series 6, and the 99-02 were series 7....no other rx7's after that. what's a series 8? 9?

Series 7 1996 - 1998(483 3rd Gen)

Series 8 1999 - 2002



The Spirit Type R was dubbed the Series 9 but had a very limited release only in Japan. Not well known is the fact that they also created a Series 10 but only 25 were made and as it never went into mass production or sale the car was not 'officially launched' to the media or public at large. This naturally makes it extremely difficult to find information about the 'S10', if I could give you a link I would.
